Nello scorso articolo abbiamo iniziato ad analizzare l’impatto dell’AI Overview sui classici Blue Link e sui Featured Snippet, listing di diversa natura ma accomunati da una buona capacità di trasformare le impression in click nel contesto della ricerca organica su Google.
In linea generale, l’impatto dell’AI Overview è stato imponente e ha segnato una vera pietra miliare nel processo di trasformazione di Google in motore di risposta, ma non tutti i settori tematici sono stati interessati da questo vero terremoto nella stessa misura.
In Italia, ad esempio, dall’analisi di un panel di oltre 6 milioni di SERP da gennaio 2025 a marzo 2026 si evidenzia un impatto complessivo dell’AI Overview sui top ranking organici di poco superiore al 22%. Se si isolano i diversi territori, però, emergono scenari completamente diversi.
Dall’avvento dell’AI Overview in Italia un anno fa - era il 26 marzo 2025 - gran parte della community dei professionisti di digital marketing si è trovata concorde nel ritenere che questo nuovo elemento della SERP che offre risposte dirette ai bisogni informativi dell’utenza avrebbe cambiato per sempre natura e funzione della leva SEO, con tutto ciò che ne consegue in termini di KPI, vale a dire di metriche utilizzabili per la misurazione dell’efficacia delle attività di ottimizzazione.
L'AI Overview (d’ora in poi AIO per brevità), peraltro, potrebbe rappresentare uno step intermedio e non il punto di arrivo del processo di trasformazione di Google da motore di ricerca a motore di risposta, iniziato molti anni fa. Con l’AI Mode, infatti, Big G potrebbe diventare un ambiente conversazionale in tutto simile a quello dei vari ChatGPT, Perplexity eccetera. Un ambiente in cui l’utente potrebbe trovare tutte le risposte alle proprie esigenze e persino delegare ogni valutazione e conseguente azione all’AI.
